The recommended plan of study for the Powerline program spans three semesters, beginning with foundational courses in OSHA safety, commercial driving, powerline basics, climbing, and applied electrical science and mathematics, totaling 12 credits in the summer semester. The fall semester focuses on staking, rigging, power use, street lighting, and more advanced courses in overhead line construction, electrical equipment structure and design, and applied electrical science and mathematics, totaling 18 credits.
