Montana Alberta Tie Project is a 214-mile, 230-kV transmission line that originates at Lethbridge, Alberta, and terminates at Great Falls, Montana. The project was estimated to cost $400 million.Construction began mid-2013. In mid-August, 2011, Enbridge acquired the assets of the project from Tonbridge for $20 million plus a debt payoff of $50 million. The project will enable movement of electricity between Alberta and Montana. The complete project ha a 550 MW and 600 MW bi-directional rating.
