Lineman Apprenticeships at DTE Energy
The lineworker apprentice at DTE Energy is responsible for a variety of tasks and accepts assignments from Line Supervisor on shift and shall be assigned to work directly with a 1st Class Lineman. Learns to perform those tasks required in the construction, maintenance or operation of electrical power transmission and distribution facilities. Lineman Apprentice I shall be assigned to a Line Supervisor on 1 of 4 rotating shift schedule: midnight to 08:00 a.m.; 08:00 a.m. to 04:00 p.m.; and 04:00 p.m. to midnight and a swing-shift.

Journeyman lineman at DTE Energy Develops application code, queries, scripts, web pages, and develops and executes unit tests. Works on multiple teams in a collaborative environment. Participates in the design, development, deployment and level 2 & 3 support of applications. Mentors Associate Developer; perform code reviews, explain technical concepts, and pair programming. Provides planning and time estimates for own assignments. Keeps abreast of technology trends and DTE Energy strategies, standards, and guidelines in order to select technologies that are appropriate and cost-beneficial and apply each to ITS operating procedures.
