Lineman Apprenticeships at Danville Utilities
The lineworker apprentice at Danville Utilities is responsible for a variety of tasks and accepts assignments from Line Supervisor on shift and shall be assigned to work directly with a 1st Class Lineman. Learns to perform those tasks required in the construction, maintenance or operation of electrical power transmission and distribution facilities. Lineman Apprentice I shall be assigned to a Line Supervisor on 1 of 4 rotating shift schedule: midnight to 08:00 a.m.; 08:00 a.m. to 04:00 p.m.; and 04:00 p.m. to midnight and a swing-shift.

Journeyman lineman at Danville Utilities Receives and processes orders via CAD, Performs water and gas off orders, Performs "basic" water and gas functions (i.e. meter verifications, ERTs, paints, removals (water), Performs the necessary paperwork in connection with assigned duties and Operates a truck in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with the Utility's safety policies and practices, and with local and state laws and regulations.
