Lineman Apprenticeships at Berkeley Electric Cooperative

Berkeley Electric Cooperative has developed a 14-week training program that will help you gain the knowledge and skills to help you begin your career in the electric utility industry. Students experience conditions similar to those on the job in the outdoor training lab constructed on-site at Trident Technical College's North Charleston campus. Students also receive expert classroom training in electrical theory and other subjects vital to launching their career as a lineworker.

Berkeley Electric Cooperative Journeyman Lineman Jobs

Journeyman lineman at Berkeley Electric Cooperative Performs duties using manual labor, in such maintenance as clearing of the right-of ways, cleaning drainage ditches, repairing shoulders, patching potholes, making base repairs, repairs to bridges, paving driveways and laying sideline/cross line pipe. Operates and maintains medium duty equipment such as tandem dump trucks, skid steer, aggregate spreader, belt loaders and combination tractor with side mounted mowers.

Berkeley Electric Cooperative Lineman Job Hiring Process

Lineman at Berkeley Electric Cooperative require successful completion of the Cooperative's Four-Year Apprentice program, plus a minimum of one (1) year as a Journeyman B is required. Must have the ability to construct and maintain overhead or underground lines. To operate heavy equipment such as backhoe, line truck, bucket truck, trencher and test equipment. Install underground or overhead switches. Able to teach and train line workers.
